Farm FAQs
Blooming Questions
Where is Uchtenhagen Farm located?
Uchtenhagen Farm is located just 5 minutes outside Red Deer, Alberta, in Central Alberta. Our rural setting offers a peaceful escape while still being only minutes from the city.
How many acres do you farm?
Our mighty acreage is 2 acres. Our dedicated flower event space is approximately 6,000 square feet. For 2026, we expanded our production flower field from 800 square feet to 1,500 square feet — allowing us to grow even more seasonal specialty flowers.
What kind of flowers do you grow?
The real question is, what flowers don't we grow? We grow over 40 varieties of seasonal specialty cut flowers each year — as many as one person (plus occasional husband support) can lovingly manage.
Our blooms include sunflowers, peonies, dahlias, celosia, love-in-a-mist, snapdragons, strawflower, zinnias, basil, and so so so much more.
We focus on unique, specialty varieties that you won’t typically find in grocery stores — flowers chosen for their character, movement, and exceptional vase life.
Are your flowers organically grown?
We prioritize natural and responsible growing practices and focus on soil health, seasonal growing, and sustainable methods whenever possible. We are happy to say we a chemical-free property (because that shit's nasty). Most of all, we try our best to work with nature and for the majority, we do companion planting with herbs and a few veggies in our flower gardens.
Where do you sell your flowers?
We sell them directly to customers through seasonal subscriptions and custom orders. You can also find our blooms at PUREARTH ORGANICS, located downtown Red Deer at 5589 47th street #110.
Is Uchtenhagen Farm open to the public?
Uchtenhagen Farm is a private, family-run property and is open by appointment only for scheduled events, consultations, flower pickups, and workshops.
Do you allow photography sessions at the farm?
Yes — we love collaborating with professional photographers. We try book minimum of two weeks out for any photography session and a location fee applies per visit. To inquire, please email us at uchtenhagenfarm@gmail.com or slide into our DM's.
What happens if it rains the same day as my event?
We always plan with the weather in mind. For any outdoor event at Uchtenhagen Farm, we’ll send you an email and make the call the same day if the event needs to be rescheduled. We rarely cancel — we typically reschedule so your experience can go ahead safely and comfortably.
I've booked a Sip and Snip, what can I expect on the property?
Uchtenhagen Farm is exactly that — a working flower farm. Please expect uneven ground, irrigation lines, mud (depending on the weather), insects, and a true rural experience. We encourage guests to wear appropriate footwear and dress for the outdoors. Our events are designed to feel relaxed and immersive — nature included.
Can I bring my dog to the farm for an event?
We love dogs! However, for the safety of our free-ranging chickens, cows and other farm animals, outside dogs are not allowed on the property during events.
Thank you for helping us keep our animals safe while enjoying your farm experience.
