The Blooming Haven or The Woodland Escape?
How to Pick Your Ceremony Spot at Uchtenhagen Farm
So you've decided a flower field (or a forest) beats a hotel ballroom. Smart move. Now comes the fun part — and the slightly trickier one: which of our two ceremony spaces is actually your spot?
We get asked this a lot, so let's break it down.
The Blooming Haven: for the "surround us in flowers" couple
If you close your eyes and picture saying "I do" with blooms on every side, warm light, and just your favourite humans close enough to see you cry — The Blooming Haven is calling your name.
You get married in the beautiful gazebo and it's tucked right into our flower gardens, which means your backdrop is quite literally whatever we're growing that week. Peonies in June, dahlias by August, always something in its prime. This space is best suited to intimate micro-weddings, so if your guest list is a tight, cozy crew rather than a "we invited everyone from the office" situation, this is your venue.
Choose The Blooming Haven if you want:
- A elevated garden-party feel with flowers as the main character
- A smaller, more intimate guest count
- Golden-hour photos that don't need much help from a photo editor
The Woodland Escape: for the "take me into the trees" couple
Prefer your romance a little more moody, a little more magical? The Woodland Escape is our forested ceremony space — tall trees, dappled light, that "we eloped into a fairytale" energy. It's a bigger, more open setting, so it comfortably holds larger ceremonies without losing that secluded, escape-the-world feeling.
Choose The Woodland Escape if you want:
- A woodsy, enchanted-forest atmosphere
- More room for a bigger guest list
- A setting that feels private even though more people are there
Can't decide? Here's the honest answer.
Most couples land on one or the other pretty fast once they picture their actual wedding day — not a Pinterest board, their day. Ask yourself: are you dreaming of flowers as far as the eye can see, or trees as far as the eye can see? That's usually the whole decision.
And the good news either way: because we grow our own blooms just steps from both spaces, your ceremony florals and your venue come from the same place, quite literally. No trucking in flowers from three provinces away or flying them in from Columbia and hoping they survive.
Ready to pick your spot (and your blooms)?
Both venues are just five minutes outside Red Deer, and blooming haven book ups quickly — between our on-site events and flower subscriptions, our calendar fills up faster than a bridesmaid grabbing the bouquet. If you're planning a 2027 wedding, now's the time to lock in your date.
Or just slide into our DMs and tell us which one you're leaning toward — we love talking through it with you.
